So in my last post, I told you all I was setting up a time lapse project last week, and last night, I finished it. Yay! And without further adieu, here it is!
It took 2 days to photograph – over 1000 exposures taken, only 700 odd used and two evenings doing post-production. Next time I shall be much quicker. Might even try some tilt-shift as someone suggested to me on twitter.
Now to start thinking about my next project for stop motion / time lapse… suggestions?
I’ve watched lots of time lapse videos in awe and always thought I could do something like that. I didn’t realise I had the tools sitting inside of my Adobe Photoshop Lightroom or my Proshow Gold for that matter. So since then I’ve been itching to do my own time lapse video and I’ve lacked the subject matter to use.
And then, upon a discussion with our, well, I guess shes an account manager, I decided that the signwriting of a hard sided trailer at work could be just the thing. And then someone else suggested I could also do the wrapping of a car. And now, I have many opportunities to try my hand at this new skill – even the airbrushing of a van rear. Unfortunately I’m behind the times with the production plan, so I missed out on that one.
Below is a recent time lapse that made news here in New Zealand which also inspired me to try this out!
So as I write this, my camera is sitting on the tripod, set up to do 500 exposures today – one every 30 seconds and it settings as as follows:
So watch this space, because I hope it works! Wish me luck And while the camera does the hard work now and I do the hard work on my laptop tomorrow, for those interested, here is a good instructional from Kat’s blog, which isn’t too dissimilar from what I’m doing here!
After my original post where I told you all what was in my handbag, I had an inkling that I was carrying around too much stuff. It wasn’t until last night when I strolled from the Pukekohe Arts Centre to the Pizza Box for a coffee and back again that I realised my shoulder was hurting from carrying all of this stuff around.
So without futher a-do, I present a pictorial blog post of
