1 Comment how i finally won something from vodafone
A couple of days ago, I made a post complaining about the difficulty of winning stuff from Vodafone through the V.Voice and V.Box compeitions/surveys etc.
With the launch of the XT network by Telecom today, both companies have been in full swing trying to retain existing customers and the old trying to win new ones. For the past week, Vodafone have been running many promotions, one of which was $1000 credit for 1000 customers and one customer got $40,000 of credit. Lucky bitch. Can you tell I didn’t win any account credits?
Another promotion Vodafone has been running has been 3G Guy in which he tweets where he is twice a day and you have to go and find him. The prize is a free Dell Mini 9 Netbook & $1200 of Mobile Broadband credit. Hamilton is a wee bit of a hike, so I took my chances in the online compeition. I’ve stuck a wee link here to the tweets from @3GGuy.
Clue #1 – Good place to kick back – Rugby of course!
Clue #2 – Standing ovation for Hamilton – the Cheifs head office is across the road from the Rugby grounds. Kind of.
Clue #3 – Another good place to kick back next to this – There is another rugby field there and the Old Boys Rugby Club. I know this because this is where we assembled for the Marshals pre-V8 day breakfast, sign on etc.
I didnt see Clue #4, because I was away from the computer, in transit and helping my parents move house. I had no idea I had won. None. Zero. Zilch. Until the fact of being offline got the better of me and I decided to use Gravity to check Twitter. I thought it was odd there were messages abusing me for winning the netbook. Eh?!
Suffice to say, a lot of jumping up and down and yelling ensued. Not sure what I am going to do with it. I have no need for a netbook and I will most likely end up selling it. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the $1200 mobile broadband credit…
p.s. I picked him to be at the corner of Abbotsford & Tristram Sts, Hamilton. The person who was the closest, first, wins.
Well done! I will surely make good use of it eh.
